On February 22nd, we had the privilege of partnering with the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati (DSAGC) to host a day devoted entirely to comfort, compassion, and care. At APOHCO, we believe that every child deserves not only access to dental care—but a space where they can feel safe, seen, and supported.
For many children and teens with Down syndrome, a trip to the dentist can be overwhelming. Sensory sensitivities, unfamiliar environments, and past medical experiences can turn what should be a routine visit into a moment of anxiety. That’s why this day wasn’t just about cleanings or check-ups—it was about creating a gentle introduction to oral health in a setting designed to meet each child where they are.
