We Care for the Child
Dentist Opportunity
Being Part
of Something Bigger

At APOHCO, our doctors are key to enhancing pediatric oral health. We provide the necessary tools and support, allowing you to focus on creating brighter smiles and healthier futures.

Doctor Lead.
Team Managed.

As natural leaders, pediatric dentists set the pace for patient care, and at APOHCO, you are trusted to lead it. Our experienced team ensures operations run seamlessly behind the scenes so you are never distracted by supplies, scheduling chaos, or administrative fires. You step into a prepared, well-supported environment where your focus stays where it belongs, delivering exceptional care and building lasting relationships with children and families.

At APOHCO, your responsibility is simple and powerful. Care for the child in front of you. You are fully supported by experienced teams who manage scheduling, insurance coordination, and financial conversations with families, so your energy stays centered on diagnosis, thoughtful communication, and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. With the space to truly listen, you can understand each family’s hopes, concerns, and goals, and guide them with clarity and compassion. When doctors are free from administrative pressure, outcomes improve, trust grows, and the work becomes both sustainable and deeply meaningful.

A strong pediatric practice is built on consistency. Our experienced EFDAs, hygienists, and support team members create a stable, familiar environment where children feel comfortable and families feel known. We intentionally prioritize retention because when teams stay together, trust deepens and efficiency improves. For you, that means smoother days, predictable workflow, and clinical support from people who understand your style and anticipate your needs. Patients do not just connect with a dentist. They connect with a team, and that stability strengthens every visit.

We recruit exceptional pediatric dentists, and we trust them to practice with confidence. Your clinical training and judgment are respected, and you are never pressured to treat beyond your comfort level or personal standards. At the same time, you are surrounded by experienced pediatric dentists who are invested in your growth and always available for guidance, case discussion, and encouragement. We meet regularly to align treatment philosophies and strengthen consistency across our offices, creating a culture where autonomy is supported by mentorship and shared accountability.

Caring
for More

Caring for More is the heart of our mission. It means taking the time to truly know each child and family, understanding their hopes, their fears, and their unique circumstances before we ever begin treatment. It means finding solutions instead of creating barriers, whether that involves building trust around a difficult procedure or expanding access for children who need a dental home. We care deeply for our patients, our team members, and our community, and we are committed to serving more children without ever sacrificing quality, compassion, or provider well-being.

Our offices are intentionally designed to support both efficiency and doctors’ well-being. Strategic chair configurations and our check chair model allow patients to move smoothly through their visit while minimizing unnecessary movement for the doctor. Families experience shorter transitions and clearer conversations in one setting, and you experience less physical strain and mental fatigue throughout the day. The result is a practice environment where you can care for more children thoughtfully and sustainably, without sacrificing energy or connection.

Being amply staffed is a deliberate decision, not a luxury. We build our teams with strong clinical support so doctors are never scrambling for hel,p and patient care never feels rushed. When someone is out or the schedule shifts unexpectedly, we have the depth to pivot smoothly without adding stress to your day. It also gives our team members the ability to pause and decompress during busy moments, which protects morale and strengthens the quality of care children receive. This level of staffing preserves workflow, emotional calm, and sustainability for everyone in the office.

We invest in advanced technology because children deserve the most comfortable and precise care available, and doctors deserve tools that elevate their work. From CO2 lasers and LightScalpel technology for soft tissue procedures to modern anesthetic delivery systems designed to reduce discomfort, every detail supports a gentler patient experience. Nitrous oxide is available in every operatory, and portable imaging with Nomad X-rays allows us to capture diagnostics for special-needs patients or children sitting comfortably on a parent’s lap. Our commitment to innovation reflects our commitment to excellence, accountability, and thoughtful pediatric care.

Collaboration
& Growth

Collaboration and Growth mean you never practice in isolation. Even if you are the only doctor in your office, you are part of a connected group of pediatric dentists who regularly share cases, align treatment philosophies, and learn from one another. Structured mentorship from experienced leaders, ongoing case discussions, and intentional continuing education ensure your development is supported at every stage of your career. You gain the independence to lead your practice while being strengthened by a trusted community committed to your growth.

Mentorship at APOHCO is personal, structured, and consistent. You meet regularly with Dr. Rudolph and Dr. Vaughan for dedicated time focused on practice development, clinical case discussion, and professional growth. These conversations create a judgment-free environment where questions are welcomed, perspectives are shared, and learning is continuous. Whether you are navigating complex treatment planning or thinking through long-term career goals, you have direct access to experienced leaders who are invested in helping you grow into the best pediatric dentist you can be.

Here, you join a team, not a competition. Our culture is collaborative and humble, grounded in the shared mission of improving oral health across our community. We are proud to be part of a pediatric dental community that is not cutthroat, creating space for meaningful collaboration not only within our group but also with other pediatric dentists across the region. Doctors regularly consult one another, share experiences, and support each other through complex cases and busy seasons. That collaboration strengthens clinical consistency, provides emotional support, and creates flexibility for coverage when life calls you away. Together, we elevate care for children throughout our community.

Growth at APOHCO goes beyond a continuing education stipend. We regularly co-sponsor local CE events designed around real pediatric cases and the challenges you face in daily practice. These gatherings create space for practical learning, open discussion, and honest conversation about the clinical and emotional realities of pediatric dentistry. You gain applicable knowledge that strengthens your skills, while also building deeper relationships with peers who understand your work and support your growth. Education here is both professional and personal.

Full Service
Pediatric

Our Full Service Pediatric model allows you to practice the full scope of your training within a coordinated, accountable system of care. From preventive visits and restorative treatment to emergency coverage and advanced procedures, children receive comprehensive care under one trusted umbrella. This approach strengthens continuity, reduces unnecessary referrals, and ensures families experience clarity rather than fragmentation. You are empowered to serve the whole child while supported by systems designed to protect quality, access, and long-term outcomes.

We provide comprehensive pediatric dental care under one umbrella—from preventive visits to advanced procedures. This approach allows doctors to fully utilize their training and serve a broader patient population. Opportunities to refer to one another based on clinical experience and interest are widely available and allow us to treat the whole patient.

Through our partnership with PDAA, board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists provide in-office IV sedation across our locations, allowing you to treat complex cases safely and confidently. This model expands your ability to care for children who might otherwise require hospital referral, while improving access and reducing logistical stress for families. Our anesthesia team meets the highest safety standards and provides the level of care we would trust for our own children. You maintain clinical continuity while delivering comprehensive treatment in a supportive, well-coordinated environment.

Hospital dentistry should never feel overwhelming for doctors or for families. Our dedicated OR coordinator manages scheduling, paperwork, and logistics from start to finish, removing administrative burden so you can focus fully on clinical care. Just as importantly, we personally follow our patients into the hospital setting, ensuring continuity of care and providing families with the comfort of seeing a trusted doctor throughout the entire process. This coordinated approach reduces stress, strengthens trust, and allows complex cases to be handled with clarity and compassion.

Public
Health

Public health at APOHCO means our responsibility does not end with our in-office patients. We are committed to expanding access to care, finding Medicaid pathways, and building sustainable dental homes for children across our community. Our leadership has deep roots in public health, and we intentionally invest time, resources, and coordination into programs that serve the most vulnerable families. Success for us is measured not only by procedures completed, but also by access expanded, barriers reduced, and healthier futures created for children who need us most.

SmileOnward is our voice to the community and a tangible extension of our mission beyond the office walls. Through school partnerships, prevention initiatives, oral health education, and direct connections to our dental homes and emergency services, we work to remove barriers. We also equip caregivers with accessible, digital education so they can make informed decisions for their children. For pediatric dentists who entered this profession to serve with both skill and heart, SmileOnward offers a meaningful way to expand your impact across the community.

CPD is our commitment to serving children who might otherwise go without care. Through this structure, we create streamlined referral pathways for general dentists and expand access to hospital-based treatment for patients who require general anesthesia. All profits generated through CPD are reinvested directly into public health initiatives and subsidized care for children in need. This model reflects our belief that actions speak louder than words. We do not simply talk about access and equity. We build systems that make it possible.

Through our collaboration with the Freeman Center at UC Medical Center, we are working to expand dental access for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, an area where care has historically been limited. This partnership strengthens interdisciplinary collaboration while addressing a critical gap in comprehensive health services. By extending our dental home model beyond childhood, we continue our commitment to coordinated, accountable care for

vulnerable populations. It is another example of how we lead with compassion while building practical solutions that improve lives.

Life Goals
Come First

Life Goals Come First means we believe great pediatric dentists are whole people first. Family, health, friendships, and personal growth are not only respected here but also encouraged. We understand that leading a practice and caring for patients is more than a full-time responsibility, which is why our community model matters. By working together and providing coverage when life calls, you gain the flexibility to be the parent, spouse, friend, or leader you want to be. We even host monthly and annual personal development challenges because we believe growth outside the office strengthens the doctor within it.

Our compensation model is transparent, straightforward, and aligned with whole patient care. Because we believe prevention matters, production is calculated on all codes, allowing you to focus on comprehensive treatment rather than chasing procedures. We offer a 1,500 dollar daily minimum, which is among the strongest guarantees in pediatric dentistry, and our doctors consistently exceed it. In addition, we provide health benefit contributions, a 401(k) with a match, and continuing education stipends because we believe in valuing and retaining exceptional doctors for the long term

After one year of employment, doctors have the opportunity to earn equity in the organization. Ownership creates alignment and gives you a meaningful stake in the future we are building together. At the same time, our model allows flexibility. You can participate in building equity without carrying the full weight of traditional practice ownership. This structure shares financial responsibility, strengthens long-term commitment, and provides the opportunity to benefit from the value you help create, all while maintaining the balance and focus that brought you to pediatric dentistry in the first place.
